Lisbon Airport Fixed Taxi Fares From 15 October: What New Arrivals Pay

Fixed taxi fares from Lisbon Airport (Aeroporto Humberto Delgado) started on Thursday, 15 October 2026. If you land and take a taxi from the arrivals rank, you should now know the price before you leave the kerb — useful for newcomers who have long faced overcharging and refused destinations. The rules come from a cooperation protocol published by ANTRAL and summarised by Diário de Notícias.

What changed

Trips that start at the arrivals taxi rank now use fixed prices for Lisbon city (by parish zone) and for other destinations on the Turismo de Lisboa (ATL) table. Destinations not on that list stay on the taximeter. The protocol was signed by Lisbon City Council, ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal and ATL with the taxi associations FPT and ANTRAL. It is a self-regulation step until a specific municipal regulation is approved.

Lisbon city prices (from the airport)

For up to four passengers, DN reports:

  • Zone 1 — weekdays 07:00–22:00: €16; night (22:00–07:00), weekends and national holidays: €20.
  • Zone 2 — weekdays 07:00–22:00: €19; night, weekends and national holidays: €23.

Press reporting of the same protocol table (including fares for more than four passengers) puts zone 1 / zone 2 at €20 / €23 by day and €24 / €28 at night for larger groups. Confirm the board or voucher at arrivals if you are travelling with five or more people.

Zone 1 parishes: Alvalade, Areeiro, Avenidas Novas, Beato, Lumiar, Marvila, Olivais, Parque das Nações, Penha de França, Santa Clara.

Zone 2 parishes: Ajuda, Alcântara, Arroios, Belém, Benfica, Campolide, Campo de Ourique, Carnide, Estrela, Misericórdia, Santa Maria Maior, Santo António, São Domingos de Benfica, São Vicente.

Outside Lisbon and nearby towns

Places next to the airport but outside Lisbon — for example Moscavide, Sacavém and Prior Velho (Loures), or Amadora and Almada — are taximeter, according to DN. Some ATL destinations further afield keep fixed prices; DN examples include Cascais / Estoril / Sintra (€53.40 day / €64 night), Oeiras or Costa de Caparica (€36.95 / €44.35), and Vila Franca de Xira / Montijo (€48.80 / €58.55).

What drivers must do — and what is still rolling out

ANTRAL says drivers must not refuse a trip, must accept electronic payment and ATL vouchers, and must not add a surcharge for how you pay. The price is closed: no extras for tolls or payment method on the fixed routes covered by the table.

Important: the full control system is not finished yet. Credentialing of taxis started on 15 October; DN quotes FPT saying the system should be fully working only in early November. Until then, not every taxi on the rank may be credentialed, and number-plate access control is not fully active. Still ask for the fixed price (or buy an ATL voucher at the Turismo de Lisboa desk in arrivals) and keep a receipt.

What this means for immigrants and new arrivals

  • Know your parish or destination before you queue, so you can check the zone price.
  • Uber, Bolt and other TVDE apps are not covered by these fixed airport fares.
  • Metro (red line) and buses remain cheaper options into the city when you have time and luggage you can manage.
  • The fixed fare applies to trips from the airport rank; the return trip into the airport still follows normal taxi rules.
